A consultancy runs project work in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, in separate companies. Al Jawad Software House extended Odoo so each project shows how it is doing against its plan, and so HR paperwork follows each country's habits.
Where the work gets hard
Projects are judged month by month. Plans are built from roles and people, and the real cost only appears as the work goes on.
Quotes are not always signed. Work may start before the contract is final, and that status should be visible.
Different countries, different HR habits. Letters and payroll practice differ between the companies.
What we implemented
Project profitability and budgets
On the project record, Odoo compares planned, subcontract and actual cost and revenue by month. Budgets are created from monthly plan values set by role, which Odoo maps to employees and their contracts. A "contract not signed" status is available, and each project links to its quotes, invoices, bills and timesheets.

HR for each country
Payslip adjustments, leave attachments and notifications support payroll practice on top of the standard localisations. A salary certificate prints from the employee record with wording for each company. HR letters print from approval requests, and the employee separation report has an Excel print.
How the work gets easier
| The usual way | With the new process |
|---|---|
| Budgets are rebuilt in spreadsheets | Odoo builds them from role plans |
| Quotes, bills and timesheets are gathered by hand | They are linked from the project |
| HR letters are typed per request | Letters print from the record or request |
Project managers see where each project stands without assembling the figures first.
